We worked with Archrival to produce some branded collateral items for a cross-promotional product launch of Bungie’s new video game, Destiny, supported by Red Bull.
We experimented with new engraving process for this project - we used about 500 aluminum plates and had them sandblasted with glass beads to obtain a clean, uniform surface, then had those plates clear-anodized for two purposes:
1) to protect the aluminum surfaces from scratches and fingerprints and
2) to allow us to engrave a duo-tone graphic
The first engraving pass was done on the anodization to produce a lighter, subtle graphic background.
The second engraving pass incorporates a ceramic marking solution to produce the darker typography and logomark.
These plates were included in promotional packages that were sent out to professional athletes and social media influencers to help generate some hype around this new video game’s launch.
