Description:
Mellow Mushroom is a chain of very unique pizzerias - each location has its own very distinct design and vibe.

We collaborated with APM Architecture to design a ceiling that
a) made diners feel as if they were seated beneath a giant mushroom and
b) helped to tune and control the interior acoustics of the space

Tectum was the material of choice because of its very natural, fibrous appearance, as well as its sound absorbing properties. We designed custom hanging fixtures to securely suspend the large panels, aid in installation during alignment, and to allow some slight movement from a bump or a strong breeze.

We also fabricated a ‘Penny Planko’ interactive display for the entrance and waiting area, and custom dimensional panels to wrap the booth seating areas.
