Description:
HDR Architecture reached out to get our help in producing these geometric patterned wall panels for a hospital renovation in Fremont, Nebraska.

They had a go-to source for custom dimensional wall panels, but the technology used to create them was a CNC machine, which isn’t able to cut sharp interior angles. The spinning router bit of a CNC machine rounds off any interior angle it encounters, so the hexagons that the designer was envisioning wouldn’t come out correctly. They needed a powerful laser cutter to execute their vision in precise detail. We happened to have one of those. Her name is Helga.

We took on-site measurements before setting up our production artwork to ensure the finished panels came together as tightly as possible. All of the hexagonal shapes had sharp, clean-cut interior angles, which achieved the goal of the project.
